An authentic story
Since the dawn of civilization, laurel trees and laurel oil have been known as a magical plant for their great benefits.
Laurel soap (sabun ghar) is the name given to handmade soap made from olive oil and laurel oil, and is one of the most important authentic Syrian products found in the city of Aleppo since ancient times.
Aleppo is famous for this natural soap, featuring natural ingredients and a production time of about 10 months.
The fame of Aleppo soap reached Europe several centuries ago: the laurel soap industry has been associated with the city since its inhabitants began exporting it around the world about 1,200 years ago.
The production of this soap remains unchanged over the centuries and is handed down from father to son like a treasure to be jealously guarded.
The Jalal family (hence the initials of the name Janapp) is one of the recognized families in Syria to have had the seal to produce and stamp soap for several centuries.
